Improved Response Quality in the Latest ApplyBtn Version
We focused on making AI-generated answers sound more natural, less formulaic, and closer to how a real person would write when applying for a job.
For the last two weeks, we've been waiting for Google to approve the new ApplyBtn version in the Chrome Web Store.
That delay is frustrating, but we used the time to improve one of the most important parts of the product: AI-generated job application answer quality.
ApplyBtn already helps autofill job applications directly on the job page, generate tailored answers based on a CV and the job description, and create cover letters without forcing people into a separate dashboard flow. But speed alone is not enough. If an answer sounds generic, robotic, or too obviously AI-written, it can hurt the application instead of helping it.
That’s why we spent a lot of time making the generated answers sound more natural, more relevant, and closer to how a real person would actually write in a job application.
What Improved
The latest version is producing answers that are:
- More natural in tone
- Less repetitive and formulaic
- Better matched to the candidate’s real background
- **More human-sounding and less obviously AI-generated**
- Stronger across different question types, including open-ended job application fields
This work was not about making the text sound flashy. It was about making it more believable, more useful, and more suitable for real job applications.
Why This Matters
A lot of tools can generate text quickly. That is no longer the hard part.
The real challenge is writing natural job application answers with AI. In job applications, that matters a lot. Recruiters and hiring teams react not only to the content, but also to the tone. If the writing feels unnatural, repetitive, or over-polished, it creates friction right away.
ApplyBtn is built around a simple idea: helping people apply faster without making their applications sound worse.
Internal Testing
As part of this update, we also tested the new response quality against AI-detection tools such as Undetectable AI.
In internal tests, the latest version showed noticeably stronger results than before, including examples in both English and Spanish. We are not trying to promise any fixed result on third-party detectors, because outcomes can vary depending on the question, the answer format, and the detector itself. The goal is to improve the quality of AI-generated job application writing so it feels more natural in real use.
That is the direction we care about most.
What Comes Next
As soon as the new version is approved, these quality improvements will be available in ApplyBtn.
We'll keep sharing product updates here as the extension evolves, especially around answer quality, cover letter generation, and the overall same-page application workflow.
