Save a job, autofill the form, set it to applied, then see it on your dashboard and in Google Sheets.

When you apply to many jobs, the details get lost. Which job was it? Which CV did you send? What did you write?

ApplyBtn's Job Application Tracker keeps these details for you, inside the ApplyBtn browser extension. Save a job while you read the job posting. Autofill its application, and the job moves to Applications with its status, the CV you used and your answers.

You submit every application yourself. ApplyBtn sees your submit and then checks whether it went through.

How the Job Application Tracker works

Step 1

Save the job

Click Save in the ApplyBtn sidebar, or on the Save job tile, while you read the job posting. The job goes to Saved jobs. Click Saved again to remove it from the list. Saving is free.

Step 2

Autofill the application

Open the application form and click Autofill Application. The job moves to Applications as Autofilled · not applied, together with the CV you used.

Step 3

Submit it yourself

ApplyBtn never submits for you. When you submit the form, ApplyBtn sees it and shows Submit attempt · checking.

Step 4

Applied, or your correction

A later check marks the application Applied when the submit went through. If a status is wrong, click Set to applied or I didn't apply. Your word is final.

What each status means

The ApplyBtn sidebar and your dashboard show the same statuses.

Saved
You saved the job. Its application is not filled yet.
Cover letter
You generated a cover letter for the job. The job stays in Saved jobs until you autofill its form.
Autofilled · not applied
ApplyBtn filled the form, but the application is not marked as sent. If you sent it, click Set to applied.
Submit attempt · checking
ApplyBtn saw you submit the form. A check runs later to see if it went through.
Submitted · not verified
ApplyBtn saw a submit but could not confirm it. If you sent it, click Set to applied.
Applied
The check confirmed your submit, or you set it yourself. If you did not apply, click I didn't apply.
The Applications list in the ApplyBtn sidebar: a status and a Set to applied button on each row.

Your applications on one dashboard

The ApplyBtn sidebar lists your Saved jobs and Applications, each with its status and date. Click a saved job to open its page again when you are ready to apply. Click an application to open it on your dashboard, on the ApplyBtn website.

The dashboard has three lists: Applications, Saved jobs and Archived.

Open an application to see:

  • its status and date
  • the CV you used, ready to download
  • Your answers: the latest answer for each field (close to what you sent, but not always exactly the same)
  • About this job: the facts ApplyBtn recorded about the job
  • every version of your cover letter

Archive a job you no longer need. It moves to Archived, and you can restore it on the website. You can also turn on a daily email summary of your submissions. It is off by default.

Export to Excel or Google Sheets

Click Export .xlsx above your Applications or Saved jobs list. You get one Excel file (.xlsx) with every job that is not archived. It holds your jobs and their statuses, a summary, your answers to the forms' questions and the job facts, each on its own tab. Cover letters are not in the file.

In the file, a job is Saved, Not applied or Applied. You can also set your own status: Interviewing, Offer or Rejected.

Open in Google Sheets creates the same file as a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Google asks you once for permission, only for the files ApplyBtn creates. ApplyBtn keeps no copy.

Both are free. The sheet is a copy made when you click, not a live sync.

The Applications page of your dashboard: one application open, with its status, the CV you used and your answers.

What the tracker does not track

The Job Application Tracker follows the applications that ApplyBtn fills for you:

  • Only applications you autofill with ApplyBtn are tracked to Submitted or Applied.
  • A form you fill in fully by hand is not tracked.
  • A job you only saved cannot be marked applied. Autofill its application to track it.

Works with the other AI Job Application Tools

The Job Application Tracker is one of ApplyBtn's three AI Job Application Tools. What the other two do is kept with the job:

Frequently asked questions

Is the Job Application Tracker free?

Yes. Saving jobs, tracking your applications, the dashboard and the export never use credits. Credits are used only when ApplyBtn writes for you: an answer to an application question, or a cover letter.

How does ApplyBtn know that I applied?

When you submit a form that ApplyBtn autofilled, ApplyBtn sees the submit and shows Submit attempt · checking. A later check then marks the application Applied when the submit went through. If a status is wrong, click Set to applied or I didn't apply. Your word is final.

Does it track applications I fill in by hand?

No. Only applications you autofill with ApplyBtn are tracked to Submitted or Applied. A form you fill in fully by hand is not tracked, and a job you only saved cannot be marked applied.

Where can I see my applications?

In the ApplyBtn sidebar, under Saved jobs and Applications, and on your dashboard on the ApplyBtn website. On the dashboard, an application shows the CV you used, your answers, the facts about the job and every version of your cover letter.

Can I export my job applications to Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Export .xlsx downloads every job that is not archived as one Excel file (.xlsx). Open in Google Sheets creates the same file as a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Both are free.

Does ApplyBtn submit applications for me?

No. ApplyBtn never submits an application and never clicks Next or Continue. You check the form and submit it yourself. The tracker only sees the submit you make.

Track your job applications for free

Save jobs while you read them. ApplyBtn keeps every application you autofill, with its status, the CV you used, your answers and your cover letters.

No credit card required. Tracking never uses credits.
